Greetings Residency Program Directors & Colleagues,
Every year, pharmacy residents across Southeastern Michigan dedicate a large amount of time & effort completing their research-related projects. These projects often positively impact our patients, departments, and/or the healthcare community as a whole. While this research is presented institutionally and at regional pharmacy symposia, these venues can often miss interested pharmacists & technicians.
In the spirit of collegiality, SMSHP annually invites all Southeastern Michigan residency programs to submit a resident research poster for presentation. In this way we can share, learn, and “show off” the great work everyone is doing. The presentation this year will take place prior to our monthly meeting in May.
Residency Program Directors:
Please nominate 1 resident from your program to include in the poster presentation. Include their email, so that we can follow-up with additional details. You can reply to paige.roberts@trinity-health.org. Please RSVP by April 28th. SMSHP can print posters if needed.
***NOTE this event is in conjunction with ASHP President-Elect Nishaminy Kasbekar Presentation that will follow the poster session!***

Join us for a virtual presentation to learn more about two opportunities to expand and improve antimicrobial stewardship practices at your facility! In conjunction with the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services, Wayne State University's Anti-Infective Research Lab is currently recruiting sites to implement two pharmacist-driven interventions related to discharge antibiotic review and automatic antibiotic substitution at blood culture identification with molecular rapid diagnostics. Interventions can be modified to the site and piloted on a single ward or unit. Sites may choose to implement one or both interventions. We will provide free support including draft policies and protocols, educational materials, and slide decks. We will also analyze all data generated from your site to assess the impact of the project.
